This may be just a little silly but it speaks volumes.
Praying we all remember the real reason for the Easter season.
THE EMPTY CROSS
One day it bore a grievous burden
Sins of all mankind-too great to bear
The weight so heavy-pain and anguish
Our Savior carried for us there.
That day the earth and heavens trembled
The temple veil rent-the door flung wide.
Mankind was given choice of life eternal
That awful day our Lord was crucified.
His enemies thought that they had triumphed
That they had slain a man-a victory
It was a time of empty boasting
He GAVE His life upon that tree.
We need no one to intercede for us
He paid for our redemption on that day
He is the door - the truth - the word - the all
He is the one - the only living way.
How marvelous that Death has conquered sin
Christ gave His all-'twas gain. 'Twas never loss
Our glorious promise is forevermore.
Look up! Triumphant - at THE EMPTY CROSS.
