Just some of my flower pictures

Coartney Cambpell Sr. Show-woman

Comment my mother sent out today about Coartney winning Senior Showman or Show-woman I should say.

Farming, Fairs and 4-H. This is the time. Just sending Mom's article and also the results of the showmanship winner for pigs. My granddaughter, Coartney Campbell and Jim and Sheila (Birch) Yeager's daughter in the top picture and Amber Veach of Oakland whose grandparents are Les and Helen Dallas of Hutton twp. Charlotte is Mom's neighbor and goes to Enon Church. I guess we will have to go to the fair to see Coartney show for the over-all showmanship award. Brent Taylor from Oakland, and a good friend of Coartney's, will also be showing for this award and there will be one more chosen today. It is hot here today, but it always is for fair week. We are eating good this time of year with corn on the cob and tomatoes from the gardens and of course watermelons and cantalopes. Aunt Fern Hawkins is also having fried chicken that they raised, so it cannot get anybetter than that. Hope you all have a great week and will check in next week. Martha

Braden at 18 months thinks he can drive. You don't touch the steering wheel while he's beside you. The only thing is he doesn't understand you don't go unless grandpa is in there with you.

Staying the night with Grandma & Grandpa

Friday was Brad and Sarah's 5th wedding anniversay. They had tickets to go see Emerson Drive at Mattoon. We got to keep the boys. Well when Kristyn hears that Clayton and Braden get to stay then she says "I'm gonna talk to my mom about it", she got to stay too.

We ate supper in Charleston and then went home. When we got home Grandpa had the idea to get the go cart out of the barn. They really had a good time. Rode it over to Ronnie and Patty's house. Braden kept taking Grandpa's hands off the steering wheel, he didn't want help driving. Now that's what we need a 1 1/2 old driving.

All the kids (Grandpa included) had a good time.

Clayton, Kristyn and the pony

Saturday while I had the grandkids, Justin, our preacher came in. He was going to feed their ponys. He invited Clayton and Kristyn to join he and Marney. Of course the kids were really excited about going. So Grandma said yes.
My mom told him that was probably the crasiest thing he had done all day, to take a 3 and a 4 year old with him.

He came back in one peace, and the kids had a great time.

Our family watched the parade from Toy and Dorothy's front yard. Dorothy put on quite a spread. She had fruit, monkey bread, coffee, juice and donuts. We moved into the garage when it started raining.

Hindsboro 4th of July parade

Since Jeri and Chris make their home in Hindsboro we have been attending the annual 4th of July parade. It's really a big deal. Kristyn and her friend Carson rode their 4 wheelers.

Toy Tibbs rode the fire truck he's one of our two family veterans.

Clayton & Braden

I got to keep Clayton and Braden Saturday morning since mom and dad were working. Brad has been working long hours 6 days a week and Sarah had to work this Saturday. So we got a grandma day. We spent the morning at mom's store. Jeri brought Kristyn by later in the morning so I got all three of them. After lunch we went to the Oakland pool. Braden wasn't quite sure about the big pool but the older ones really loved it. I looked up and they were clear down by the slide. A freind of mine was down their with her 4 year old grandson so they were playing.
I didin't get a picture of Kristyn that day. Didn't want to take my camera to the pool. My little toy rat terrier jumped in the car when I ran home for a minute. Braden really wanted to hold her. Elle wasn't quite sure. She got out of the car quite quickly.

Siding Mom & Dad's house

On Saturday Joe, Chris, Ronnie, Cary and Jeri went down to help dad with the house. Dad has been siding parts of their house for a couple summers. This summer he hopes to finish it. The crew made quite a dent in the project.

Clayton Mr TeeBall Himself

We've been going to Charleston a couple times a week to watch Clayton play teeball. How fun.

Five Generations

We are truly blessed.

Two Sunday's ago we took another 5 generation picture. Grandma Coartney was 94 on June 21st. Mom is 70, I'm 49, Jeri is 26 and Kristyn is 3 1/2. The picture is great for a picture frame or album but the real blessing is knowing Grandma. My dad once told me that I really need to appreciate my grandparents as his had died before he was born or when he was young. I was luckey enough to know all of my grandparents very well. And my grandchildren know theirs and their great grandparents and even great great grandma.

Kristyn the little model
