Dinner with the Robertsons.

Brad and Joe both work for Crop Production.  Brad at the May Station plant and Joe and the Oakland plant.  Once a year they have a company dinner.  This year the theme was Duck Dynasty and horse racing.  The guys were to wear their best duck dynasty gear and the ladies were to wear derby hats.
Got to watch a few virtual horse races and make a few pretend wagers too.  Fun, fun, fun.

Another birthday party

So on January 9th Braden turned 8.  Kind of hard to believe.
Lindy has found out that paper is the best toy.  So she thought she should help
                                                           her brother with his presents.
                                                     Happy Birthday Braden Anthony

Cute little girl and a few more snow pictures.

Sweet baby Lindy Lou telling me Happy New Year.
The double sun dog we had on one of our snow days.
These last three pictures are Jeri's house.  This one is our her back door.  The
next one is the road out front of her house (under that 4' snow drift).

                                                              In front of her garage.

Just a little snow.

Picture taken at 8am

Reminds me so much of the winters of 1976, 1977 & 1978.  Joe & I were first married and there was so much snow.  There was a couple snow drifts that they couldn't even get through with a snow plow.  They had to use a bulldozer.  They were about 20' high.  Don't think we have that much snow yet but it does make you remember.

This one was at 10:30am

12:30pm

Nothing better than a big pot of Chilli soup on a cold winters day.

Plus a little mood lighting, plus they smell good too.

These final pictures were taken at 4pm.  Snowing and wind blowing.

Can't really tell but there is about a 2' drift outside our back door.

Christmas to New Years = Lots of Family time.

We started out the season with the school Christmas program.  We have a new music teacher and this was his first program.  It was a really nice program.  The students really knew their songs and they all behaved very well.
This picture is just full of cousins.  Alex Hoel, Kristyn Biggs, Jack Hoel.  (cousins on Chris Bigg's side).  Clayton & Braden Pardi, Jeremiah Hunt.  (the Pardi boys and the Hunt boys mothers are 1st cousins).  Now one more little twist.  Kristyn is the only one related to all of them.  The obvious, the Pardi boys are her 1st cousins, then the Hoel's are 2nd cousins I believe.  Now the Hunt boys are related because WAY down the line on the Roberts side we're related.

There was also visits with Santa.

Kristyn Jo was born on the day after Christmas so having a birthday party in the middle of all the festivities is sometimes difficult.  Jeri decided to have Kristyn's party on the Saturday before Christmas.  December 21st.

Then there was our Church Christmas play.  It was based on a Charlie Brown Christmas but it was called a Charlie Cash Christmas.  The three older grand's had parts.  Kristyn was The Little Red Headed Girl, Braden was Neatnic (opposite of Pigpen) and Clayton was Loopy (you guessed it Snoopy).  Kristyn and Braden danced.  Kristyn sang with two other girls from the church.  Clayton sang a solo.  They all did a fabulous job,

We shipped out our packages at work to some of our vendors.  We used to always send peanut brittle.  It was always a HUGE hit.  We haven't been able to convince Pam and Connie to make it for us the last couple years.  Ann Morgan had been using my Great, Great Grandmothers recipe for the peanut brittle.  I don't know how much she sold but we always ordered 100 lbs.  So with not being able to get the peanut brittle we have been getting chocolate & peanut butter fudge plus banana bread to send out.  It's quite an ordeal to get it all done.

We had a Christmas Eve Candle light communion service at church.  Then Ronnie and Patty asked us over for supper.  It was nice to visit with them and their boys, Clint, Chris  and Cary plus Cary's girlfriend Jordan  and also Patty's mom Dorothy.

Then on to Christmas morning.  We have started a  tradition of heading out to our kids houses on Christmas morning to see just what Santa brought.  Mom and dad used to do that and I thought that was really nice.  We made the rounds and then headed home.  The kids were coming out to our house around 3pm to open gifts and have supper.  We invited Dad, Ronnie & Patty, Clint, Cary and Jordan.  We had also invited Chris and Dorothy but they decided to stay home.  The kids opened gifts and then we played a little game for their last present.  It was kind of like Wheel of Fortune.
Here was their clue:
IN JANUARY IN THE AFTERNOON THIRTEEN PEOPLE ARE GOING TO HAVE FUN.  THEY EACH WOULD GET THEIR OWN BALL.  ONE MIGHT EVEN BE RED.  THEY NEED SPECIAL SHOES.  THE GAME IS FUN AND PINS WILL FALL.  IN JANUARY WE'LL GET OUR BOWLING ON.

They had so much fun guessing letters to fill in the blanks to find out that we are going to take them all bowling.  Should be fun.

The Saturday after Christmas we meet at Dad's house.  The house was full of people and fun.  Always a time to catch up have fun and over eat.

Breath and relax, now welcome 2014.
