Why We Sing

Front: Ron Hawkins, Back L-R: Kelli Inboden, Patty Hawkins, Kathy Pardi

“Why We Sing” is the worship group from Antioch Separate Baptist Church in Oakland, Illinois.  Singing new and old songs from beloved old hymns to the latest gospel worship hits, our goal is to bring the words of the songs to life so that they may touch your hearts as they have touched ours.

The name of our group, yes it’s a question, but hopefully that question can open a door for us to share our love for the Lord while spreading God’s glory.

One of the opportunities to open a door is raising funds to help with expenses for the youth camp our church attends.  We usually send around 50 plus people from our small church to this camp.  It’s very family oriented so in many cases the entire family attends and the cost to some of these families poses a hardship.  The Lord is always there providing for us so that we are able to send the youth and the workers to this camp to spread His word.  We pray, that at this camp lives will be changed and God’s glory will be found for the first time by some or maybe a renewed relationship with the Lord for others.

We will be performing on February 20, 2011 at the Paris Christian Church, 1400 S Central, Paris, Illinois at 6pm.  We hope to see you there and hope the words from the songs we share find a way into your hearts as they have ours.
