The Biggs' family

Chris was in a friend's wedding recently so Jeri and Kristyn got all dolled up too. Kristyn kept walking around the beauty shop asking people "Don't I look Pretty". Of course the answered yes.

Annual visit to the cemetary.

For 29 years now on Memorial day Mom and I went down and picked up Grandma Coartney to head to Enon to visit Grandpa Coartney and his parents. This year we went by our selves.

The first few years there was a color guard and a 21 gun salute at Enon. Brad used to pick up the bullets and brig them home. He still has some of them.

Our 2009 visit to Enon. Grandma Coartney's fathers parents are buried at Enon also, Martha and James Wright.

Mom took these pretty flowers over to Aunt Mary's last week one day. We drive through just to say hi sometimes.

After we leave Enon cemetary we head to Ashmore Cemetary. Grandma Coartney's parents Paul and Gertrude Wright along with both of Grandma's brothers, Uncle Bob & Uncle Jim Wright are at Ashmore. Grandma Coartney's mothers parents Grandma & Grandpa Brooks are buried at Ashmore in the back up on the hill. Grandma used to have me walk her back there every year. She didn't go visit the last few years was just too much walking on uneven ground.

Lucille Weston, Donna Coartney's mother is at Enon.

Mom and I also would visit the Fairview cemetary, the little country cemetary close to mom and dad's house. My Grandma and Grandpa Hawkins are buried there. Joe and I have placed our marker there by my Grandparents stone.

If your happy and you know it clapp your hands!

Dad got in the field yesterday May 21st. I remember one year he started planting on Brad's birthday (the only reason I could remember that and that Brad was in Bosnia at the time) anyway that was April 13th. Dad said he thought he could have his crops in the ground by Monday if it didn't rain. Let's pray so these farmers can get the crops in the ground.

Repainted the upstairs

We painted the rooms upstairs. The woodwork was the DARK varnish they used way back when. We primed then painted, needed two coats.

Moved our bedroom upstairs. Joe say's it's a lot quiter when he has to go to bed early because
he's getting up at 3am to leave for work. He say's I keep the TV up to loud.

Just sittin on the front porch

We don't know what this bird is.

This bird likes to hang upside down.

I missed the humming bird.

Shanty Town @ OHS 2009

Look at these two, I'll bet my brother is telling them just exactly how to build their "Shanty". Actually they were there for supper and were just visiting with friends.
Here are just some of the Shanty's.

In the process of building. Jodie Good and Brittney Hoel and their friend. (Smart girls use the ramp so you have a FLOOR)

Kara & Caitlyn and friends building theirs. Self titled as the "Donation Dolls"

Jay & Kyle putting a high pitched roof on theirs.
The Shanty's held up pretty well. All survived the storm and boy did we have a doozy. Tornado warnings, high winds and lots and lots of rain. Shanty town was moved indoors due to the weather. When the electricity went out they all were sent home. After all that they raised over $2700 for Home's for our troops and Habitat for Humanity. Good Job guys.
