For Christmas this year I gave the kids and grandkids a weekend vacation to the Caribbean Cove in Indianapolis. Well this was the weekend. We left early Saturday morning and met at IHOP in Terre Haute (my personal favorite and since I was planning it I got to pick). Then the grandkids piled into our car for the trip on to Indy. They wrote the following story each contributing a sentence. Pretty funny. Wonder if you can pick out Braden's He kept bringing us back to the same item. I started them out. Here you go.
On Saturday three little Snapdragons decided to go on a trip. We headed off to find some bones. The three little Snapdragons were very curious. The three little Snapdragons wanted to find bouncy balls. Papa Snapdragon was driving the buggy. They were headed to Indianapolis to find a secret treasure. When they tried to find their secret treasure they got stuck in a trap. The trap was made of three bouncy balls that they got caught inside. They were so scared because they were stuck inside those three bouncy balls. Luckily Papa had some apples for them to eat. Papa noticed that there was one rotten apple so he used it to get out. After they were out the bouncy balls tried to capture them. They flew as fast as they could to get back to the buggy so they could continue their trip. So they stopped at Fairy Towers. It was the prettiest hotel they had been to, it had lots of rooms. But they didn't notice that the bouncy balls owned the hotel. The bouncy balls chased them so they had to leave. Then the leader came and put them in a big bouncy ball. What the Snapdragons didn't know was the bouncy balls were friendly and only trying to help. They bounced them all the way to the place where they would find the treasure. The treasure was very dirty and the Snapdragons were very hot and tired. But they didn't know the bouncy balls were only using them to get to the treausre. It was a bouncy ball treasure. a room filled with bouncy balls. The three little Snapdragons went into the treasure room and had so much fun. It was the best day ever.
Written by Kristyn, Clayton and Braden with the help of Grandma Kak.
Here was our first stop. The Indianapolis Children's museum. From Dinosaurs to Barbie Dolls to Indy Cars a glass sculpture to a water and solar clock. All this = AMAZING. and a lot of fun too.
The big Brontosaurus at the front door do the museum.
We were greeted by "Bumble Bee" the transformer.
1st stop was the dinosaurs. Pretty amazing stuff.
Kristyn seeing what Tyrannosaurus Rex sees.
This is a real life "sniff o vision". The boys were smelling what Tyrannosaurus Rex smelled. YUCK.
The dome ceiling in this room was absolutely amazing. The picture really doesn't do it justice.
I love this picture. It's the second floor looking out over the dino display.
Next stop China. Braden may want to be a Chinese dragon for trick or treating this year. If so looks like his
momma has a lot of work ahead of her.
This is the two story solar and water clock. Joe sat and watched it for quite a while.
Barbie!
Next stop Egypt. We got to go in a real airplane to see a video. Neat thing was the windows of the plane started showing pictures of the landscape.
Swamp people. Think we should start a show. Taking a ride on a Nile Crock.
Clayton using a flight simulator. Crashed and burned a few times. But he really thought it was pretty fun.
The beautiful blown glass sculpture in the center of the museum. It was 4 stories tall. Absolutely beautiful.
"Fireworks of Glass is the largest permanent sculpture by glass artist Dale Chihuly. The 43-foot-tall tower took more than 14 days to install. There are more than 3,200 pieces of glass in the sculpture and an additional 1,600 in the ceiling." copied from the museum web site.
What would a trip to Indianapolis be with out Indy Cars.
This was the bottom of the Glass sculpture. Again ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL.
Part 1 of our trip. The water part was next on the agenda. I'll upload those pictures shortly.
