Fall = Football

With fall right around the corner so is football.  The boys are so excited about playing, Braden especially.  They started practice this week and when they come home they are VERY sweaty.  Clayton is a big hugger.  I do love his hugs but didn't really appreciate the one I got last night it was accompanied by a sly little grin and a LOT of stinky boy sweat.

It's in God's hands

I'm here to tell you that prayers are answered.  The determination and persistence of a small group young children was seen at church this last Sunday.  Here is what I wrote while listening to Jimmy Clifton speak Sunday at church.

"This young man has been in God's hands long before he even knew.  It started in a small Sunday School class with a young group of 3rd, 4th & 5th graders.  They prayed Sunday after Sunday, month after month, year after year for two brothers.  Their prayer was always that these two brothers would come to church camp, come to church and get to know Jesus.  These youngsters stood the test.  They prayed persistently, they prayed fervently, they prayed and the kept praying.  Even at a young age their faith was strong.  Then one day these two brothers did come to camp, they did let the Lord in and the fire was lit."

Jimmy & Jesse Clifton are the brothers I'm proud to say.

Matthew 5:16
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

4th of July -God please bless America

God, please Bless America.

With all the turmoil surrounding the government not really doing their job.  Just passing bills that either aren't important or ones that go against everything our country was founded on.  Christians who believe on what the bible says, are struggling to find their path.  I do believe this is the "bumpy" part of the road for us.  We are to follow the "laws of the land" but when those "laws" don't follow God's laws our road gets rough.  Maybe these are our trials and tribulations?  We are commanded to "love thy neighbor" so we will. We need to continue to make our walk be that shining path that leads others to the love of Jesus.  We need to continue to make our talk be the words that speak the truth, the truth that Jesus laid out for us in His most holy book.  We need to make our ears listen quietly when God speaks.  He is there to help us if we only listen.

With this holiday celebrating the beginning of our great country, the United State of America, we as US citizens and as Christians need to stand firm on the truths in the Bible on which our country was founded.  We are privileged to live in such a great nation.  Looking around the world if we would only open our eyes we will see how blessed we are.  But as our country chooses to separate ourselves from God's laws and God's plan we will see hard times.

Stand up, take a stand.  Take a stand to live by God's word. Choose your path wisely. and let God light the way, step by step, word by word, whisper by whisper.
