We've got an announcement!!!!

Josh and Melanie closed on their house today.  Congratulations!  It's a cute little house, just perfect for them.

 

This is the living room.  Grandma Martha was resting after climbing all those stairs to get in.

This is their kitchen.  Melanie's dad volunteered to take off the wallpaper.  I'm sure they are giving him a great big thank you.

           This is a 3 season room off the back.  I can imagine they will be spending a lot of time out there.

And They are all tuckered out.  Better get up you've got some more work to get done. Moving day is

tomorrow.

Happy Belated Birthday to my mom

Wishing my mom a happy belated birthday.

 

We didn't have a big celebration on the 16th of January her actual birthday.  On the Friday before my Aunt Karan set up a surprise birthday party for her.  She called the Hawkins cousins and invited them to Tuscany's restaurant in Paris.  The owner of the restaurant even gave her a whole birthday cake and wouldn't let Aunt Karan pay for it.

It was a special day!!!!!

 On December 17, 2011 I had the privilege it attend the College graduation of my (favorite) nephew, Christopher Alan Hawkins.  Chris graduated from Eastern Illinois University majoring in Philosophy.

 Chris sat on the very back row.  (can you pick him out?)

 

There he is getting ready to have his name read and walk across the stage. 

 The only picture of Chris and Dr. Perry, President of Eastern Illinois University.  Ronnie and Patty sat on the other side of Lantz Arena and he got the picture just before Chris got his diploma and I got the picture right after he got it.  At least a I got them both in the same frame.

And here was my date for the event.  My other hansom nephew, Cary Hawkins.
