We started out on Friday headed to southern Illinois with little or no plans ended up in Sykeston Missouri for supper on Sunday night. Had a great time even with all the U-Turns. And yes I would guess we made about 20 of them.

My gg grandfather's family all died on the trail of tears. He was only 7-8 when it happened- the only one to survive from his family and a family by the name of Barton took him in and named him John Barton.
We do not know his birth name. My great grandmother would not tell people she was half cherokee and the rest who were wouldn't talk at all about it.
Something about the government taking away their land if they found out they were native american, long ago.
I read the book about the trail of tears. It was such a sad situation and horrible situation that shouldn't have happened. The trail of tear museum in Hopkinsville KY had a pow wow this weekend. they weren't open last weekend.
