Stopped at 3 winery's and an orchard. Drove through "Giant City Park". Our final destination was Lambert's in Sikeston Mo., and yes they "throwed the rolls". We ended up staying in Sikeston over night. Got up the next morning and headed home on a different two lane road. Drove through Mounds Illinois. Stopped at the National Cemetary. That was very touching. There are a lot of "unknown" graves, hundreds of them. I just can't even imagine.
We stopped at a little town called Desoto to see an artist's shop, he wasn't open, but his creations were outside, bears and buffalo, eagles and benches. Lots of really neat stuff.
I guess I should talk a little about the name of our trip. We were in southern Illinois and Joe was driving. He saw a dead copperhead snake on the side of the road. He had never seen one so one "u-ey" later and we're going back to see it. He wanted a picture so the name just fit. The last pictures are of the road kill we saw. Boy did that coon stink. We didn't get the skunk. It took us three tries to get the squirl. Three u-eys and we met a cop. That one would have been hard to explane.
Anyway when ever you go anywhere with my mom and dad you have a good time. You just have to be kind of nuts and laugh at the silliest things.
Anyway we really had a good time.
Oh yah, Coartney I still have the road kill in my freezer for you.

Wow, blast from the past on the places you went and people that you saw. Is that the Davis'?? Was Christie there by chance...Mike was? Christie was in my class in high school. They all look like they are doing great. Looks like a great time and I am sure there were many, many laughs to go with it!!
Carla
Carla,
Yes that is the Davis'. Christie was not there but she lives in Pinkneyville. Diane said she just started back to school. I can get you her mom's email if you want to get ahold of her.
And yes we had a blast on our trip. Loads of laughs.
Thanks Kathy
